Program

Bringing together leading healthcare speakers and experts, the IPEC Faculty Development Institute is a two and a half day, interactive professional development experience.

The overall goal of the IPEC effort is to create faculty champions who can enhance interprofessional curricula, learning experiences, and assessment of learners. Faculty across the health disciplines will join together to explore how to embed such content into their curriculum. Upon returning to their home institutions, it is expected that workshop participants will help to develop faculty teams with the knowledge and skills necessary to implement an interprofessional education for collaborative practice (IPECP) project.

Audience

  • Interprofessional faculty teams and their collaborative academic and/or practice partners committed to promoting IPECP
  • Individual educators and practitioners looking for tools and strategies to lead, develop, and implement IPECP

Goals

  1. Identify resources necessary to facilitate IPECP at one’s institution.
  2. Apply sound practices in IPECP curriculum planning, design, and evaluation to local program.
  3. Create learner assessment strategies for effective IPECP.
  4. Develop faculty skills for effective IPECP.
  5. Communicate the team’s IPECP objectives to decision makers.

Structure

The agenda features: theory burst presentations on IPECP content; guided learning experiences and team-based planning activities; leading speakers from around the country; opportunities to discuss the IPECP issues and solutions; and dedicated time to explore how to embed IPECP at your institution.

Prior to attending the ILDP, registrants will be required to complete a pre-Institute assessment survey. This information will be used ro orient speakers and planners to participants goals and needs.
