Participants in the IPEC ILDP should be a dean (and other senior academic administrators with similar institutional responsibilities) and administrators who are responsible for integrating IPE in school-wide learning experiences. Deans and senior administrators from multiple schools at the same institution are strongly encouraged to attend along with their campus-wide IPE administrator. Participants must be from IPEC member associations schools.

• Directing and guiding the development of the school or program’s academic programs, services and functions in accordance with the parent institution’s goals, objectives, and resources, as well as student and community needs
• Maintaining accreditation of the school or program (primary accountability)
• Conferring regularly with the provost, senior management, program directors, and other parent institution personnel
• Assuring the development and administration of operating budgets and systems for the school or program
• Developing, implementing, and managing school or program faculty, staff, and infrastructure (primary responsibility)
• Leading, stimulating, and supporting development to establish partnerships throughout the parent institution and community for academic, service, and research programs.

Program Curriculum

The IPEC ILDP provides an unparalleled learning experience for deans, senior administrators, and those who are responsible for campus-wide IPE. The program includes topics and features such as:

  • Leadership competencies associated with IPE and collaborative practice (IPECP)
  • Integrating IPE across the institution and into the community
  • Leadership during institutional and cultural change
  • Outcomes assessment
  • The leader’s roles in building coalitions and teams
  • Philanthropy’s perception of IPECP
  • Models and case studies of IPECP

This year’s program will include breakout sessions with participants showcasing examples of successful IPECP initiatives and discussions of lessons learned. The agenda also provides ample opportunities for peer engagement and networking. Participants will leave the program with a leadership action plan to move IPECP efforts forward at their institutions.

Given the unfolding public health concern posed by the novel Coronavirus and the critical leadership roles our members play on campus and in their home communities related to care delivery and prevention, IPEC has moved to cancel the 2020 IPEC Interprofessional Leadership Development Program planned for June 16-18, 2020 in Atlanta, GA. This difficult decision was made after much deliberation, a review of the latest evidence, and in the best interest of our members’ health and safety, as well as their families, students, patients and communities.

We urge you to contact your hotel to cancel your room reservation at least 72 hours in advance of when you were scheduled to arrive. Most major airlines are currently waiving change/cancellation fees for tickets purchased for travel. For additional questions regarding conferences, please reach out to smckearney@aacnnursing.org.

For those registered for the 2020 IPEC ILDP, please note that IPEC will contact each participant over the next few days. Watch out for further communications from smckearney@aacnnursing.org.
